The writer of the book of Hebrews described Jesus’ many faceted characteristics.
Jesus Christ is!  He is the Son of God!  He is the Heir of all things!  He is the Creator!  (Paraphrase of Hebrews 1:2)

(NASB) Hebrews 1:3 “And He is the radiance of His glory…”

How is the radiance of Jesus Christ’s glory described by others in the Bible?

The prophet Ezekiel had a vision of heaven and he described what he saw with words which his reader’s would more easily comprehend.  He used words “like,” “something like,” “appearance of,” and “likeness.”

How do you describe something no one else has seen?  That is what Ezekiel did.

(NASB) Ezekiel 1:26-28 “…and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.
27 Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something like glowing metal that looked like fire all around within it and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him.
28 As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance.  Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.”

Habakkuk included in his prayer the following description of Christ’s glory.

(NASB) Habakkuk 3:3-4 “…His splendor covers the heavens,
And the earth is full of His praise.
4 His radiance is like the sunlight;
He has rays flashing from His hand,
And there is the hiding of His power.”

Notice: Christ’s power is hidden by the radiance of His glory!

Peter, James and John also saw Christ’s glory when the Lord Jesus was transfigured.
(NASB) Matthew 17:2 “And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.”
(NASB) Mark 9:2-3 “…And He was transfigured before them;
3 and His garments became radiant and exceedingly white, as no launderer on earth can whiten them.”

Christ’s radiance is real, seeable.
Christ’s radiance is His own glory.
