Place of Worship
(NASB) Genesis 22:9 “Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.”

The living God leads you and me to the place where He is to be worshiped.

Practice of Worship
(NASB) Genesis 22:10 “Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.”

The Lord God told Abraham to give what he valued and loved the most, his son, Isaac.
You and I are to give to God all we love, whatever we value above all else, that is what we are to release to our God.

Point of Response
(NASB) Genesis 22:11-12 “But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, ‘Abraham, Abraham!’  And he said, ‘Here I am.’
12 He said, ‘Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.’”

Be alert and quick to respond to God’s voice as you read His words in the Holy Bible.
Our God desires our fear – to reverence Him above all you and I love and value.
Does the living God demand we kill anyone or anything to worship Him?  No, for He gave His only begotten Son as the supreme sacrifice, there is no other sacrifice needed.

Provision of God
(NASB) Genesis 22:13-14 “Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son.
14 Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, ‘In the mount of the Lord it will be provided.”

Because of “fear” of God, because we reverence Him above all else…because of His love for you, He provided the perfect sacrifice – His own Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus died by crucifixion, buried in a tomb, raised on the third day…God’s provision for your sins and mine.  Christ Jesus – Son of God – Messiah – Risen Savior!

The worship of God is sacrificial, holy and pleasing to Him.  The worship of God knows no boundaries of countries, ethnic background or education.  The worship of God is for everyone!  Abraham had a choice, to worship God on His terms or not.  What is your choice?
