Paul and other prisoners were being taken to Rome by ship under the charge of a Roman centurion.  The ship was a cargo ship and the trip was slow because the winds were not favorable for sailing.  They finally reached a port which was not good for spending the winter as far as the pilot and captain of the ship were concerned.  Instead of staying in the port that they were in, the pilot and the captain talked the centurion into sailing to another port which would be better to stay over the winter months.
(Acts 27:1-12)

Paul warned them, “Men, I perceive that the voyage will certainly be with damage and great loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”  And the warning was unheeded by the centurion, the pilot and captain of the ship.  (Acts 27:10 NASB)

Seemingly, the winds were good for sailing and the circumstances were favorable.  Have you experienced such times?  The circumstances look good but you are warned not to proceed.

Perhaps you are the one who warns others and your warning is unheeded.  What happens then?  Paul had no choice – he was a prisoner.  Perhaps you have no choice and you must go through circumstances which are dangerous or uncomfortable because of others’ decisions.

Impatience, often times, makes for poor decisions.

What Paul knew, you also can know.  No matter your circumstances or other people’s decisions God is with you!  Wait for Him with expectancy that He will act in your behalf.
For the followers of Christ, we are to hope and believe His word.

(Amplified Bible) Psalm 130:5-6 “I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope.
6I am looking and waiting for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, I say, more than watchmen for the morning.”

Whether others listen to your warning or not, God’s word says wait…for Him:

(NASB) Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let our heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.”
