Paul proved his obedience in following Christ by telling others his experience of meeting the risen Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus.  (Acts 26:14-18)

Paul defended himself before King Agrippa years later, what did he say?
(NASB) Acts 26:19-20 “So, King Agrippa, I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision,
20 but kept declaring both to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.”

Paul’s response to Jesus Christ was obedience.  Jesus was not a figment of Paul’s imagination.  He is not a figment of your imagination.  He is the same Jesus who died and was buried.  He is the same Jesus who was resurrected physically and is alive today in heaven.  He is the same Jesus who is coming again as King over all kings.

How are you responding to God’s words to obey Him?  Are you doing so by believing in the Lord Jesus as your Savior?  How are you responding in obedience to God telling you to change some thought pattern or action?

Paul repented by turning from persecuting believers in Jesus Christ.  Paul was obedient to Christ’s call.  He declared people should repent and turn to God through faith in the living Lord Jesus.

Obedience has consequences.

Obedience had consequences in Paul’s life.  Obedience will also have consequences in your life.  Many times, suffering in some form is a consequence of obedience to God.
(NASB) Acts 26:21 “For this reason some Jews seized me in the temple and tried to put me to death.”

Obedience is honored by God.

God enables you to stand firm in your faith in Jesus.
(NASB) Acts 26:22-23 “So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place;
23 that the Christ was to suffer, and that by reason of His resurrection from the dead He would be the first to proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

It is God Who enables you to stand firm in your faith in Jesus Christ in the middle of chaos, criticism and censure.

Obedience to God is proof that you believe Him and His word.

Where do you need to begin obeying His words to you?
