Paul, Luke and others packed their bags and left Caesarea.  They were headed toward Jerusalem.  Some of the disciples from Caesarea joined them, even a man from Cyprus went with them.  (Acts 21:15-16)

How do you prepare for an unknown future?  How do you pack your bag or suitcase?
When you take a plane, what do you carry on board, in case your luggage doesn’t make your destination?  Do you take a change of clothing, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a comb or brush, perhaps a bar of soap, some deodorant?  What else do you take?  Would you include your Bible?  Perhaps you would take a pen or pencil and a notebook, what is important to you to include?

Paul was going to Jerusalem, even after being warned in many cities not to go, he continued on.  He was moving forward.  He knew he was in God’s will.  In the past he had left cities where there were threats against his life.  Not this time.  This time he was headed into the unknown…his destination: Jerusalem.

Paul trusted the living God!  He was not depending on his own understanding.  He knew that the Holy Spirit was making his paths straight, not easy, but straight.

Always, always as we travel into the unknown future:
(NASB) Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,’
And He will make your paths straight.”
