This is not a devotional about the physical, mental and emotional benefits of walking.
Although our outlook can be changed as we are walking.

Paul and Silas and most of the people in the New Testament walked or sailed on ships.
What amazing stamina to walk for days on end.

Think about the value of walking from a mental, emotional and spiritual point of view.

*A time of reflection, focusing on Scriptures and understanding the recent events in your life from a godly perspective.

*Scriptures can be meditated upon, and memorized as you walk.

*Prayer for your family, your neighbors, your country’s leaders, and for your circumstances can be a benefit of walking.

*A new perspective is often gained as you walk.  It will give you a positive outlook as you think about what is occurring in your relationships, at home, in your job, in your church and in your neighborhood.

[Think of driving a vehicle or bicycle or a motorcycle…attention should be on the traffic and the ability to drive defensively.  Do you multi-task as you drive?  Text messaging, talking on your blue tooth, “Hey it’s safe and requires no hands!”  But it does require your mind to be otherwise engaged and off of traffic.  So please text message while you are not driving.  Incoming calls and texts can wait until you are at your destination…it is for your safety and for the safety of others.]

Think of the blessings we have at our fingertips when we read the letters which Paul and other writers wrote in the New Testament.  As they walked from town to town, they could think through Scripture and how it affected those to whom they told the great good news of salvation.

Meditating on God’s word does not necessarily depend on long sessions of sitting, although that could be the case.  Walking lends itself to meditation and prayer.

So a good walk could include:
A time of Reflection & Worship
Scripture ~ meditated upon and/or memorized
Prayer and Intercession offered up to God
A New Perspective in your circumstances
