Some prophets from Jerusalem went to Antioch and warned believers of a world-wide famine.  As each person could, they contributed to a fund to be sent to followers of Christ in Jerusalem.  These contributions were gathered together and sent with Barnabas and Saul.  (Acts 11:27-30)

Barnabas and Saul…were a team of two men.  They were responsible and trusted men who would be an encouragement to one another.  As people work together, they establish a relationship, having each other’s backs, having the same goals in mind.  It is safer to travel in pairs than alone…especially when carrying a sum of money.

(NASB) Acts 12:25 “And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their mission, taking along with them John who was also called Mark.”

Mission accomplished!  They returned to the church in Antioch and they took with them a young man, John Mark.

Where do you minister to others in the name of Jesus?  Do you have another with whom you work closely?  Perhaps a question that should be considered: where do you need to have a second person (or more) involved in a specific ministry?

How do you choose such people?  First ~ pray and ask the Lord for His choice in His timing.

Ministry teams are important…tomorrow’s devotional will look at how the Lord worked in the lives of five men in Antioch.

Where are you at work in telling others, introducing others to the Lord Jesus Christ?  Who is in ministry with you?
