Questions Isaiah asked through the inspiration of God the Holy Spirit…are questions the living God asks you and me today:
(NASB) Isaiah 53:1 “Who has believed our message?  And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?”

  Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His life, His death, His resurrection – all fulfilled prophecy, all true for Jesus Christ is God!  Who has believed your message of salvation found only through faith in the Lord Jesus?  Perhaps you are one to whom the strength of God Himself has been revealed.  His strength is found in Jesus!

  Think about the scourging and crucifixion of Jesus – all was prophesied by David throughout the Psalms (especially Psalm 22) and the prophets (especially Isaiah 53).

  What else did Isaiah say in chapter 53?
(NASB) Isaiah 53:4 “Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;…”

  It was your griefs, your sorrows that Jesus took on Himself as if they were His while he hung on that cross.
  And the people at the foot of His cross, those on-lookers who derided Him even as He was dying?  They thought that He was getting just what He deserved from the Father!

(NASB) Isaiah 53:4 “…Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.”

   For they believed that Jesus had blasphemed when He made Himself equal with God the Father.  (Matthew 27:41-43)

  What else did Isaiah say about the crucifixion of Messiah Jesus?
(NASB) 53:5 “But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.”

  You and I, we are the ones for whom Jesus suffered.  It was our transgressions, our iniquities, our sins that He endured the scourging, the crucifixion.  And because He endured all of that, we (you and I) are healed…this is why we all need Jesus as our Savior…He took our just punishment for us.  That is love in action…for you and me.

 What else did Isaiah say to all who believe the message of God found in the Bible?
(NASB) Isaiah 53:6 “All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.”

  Compare all of Isaiah 53 with the events of Christ Jesus on the cross…amazing prophecy given hundreds of years before Christ fulfilled it all.
  It is only by faith in the Lord Jesus that anyone can be saved…for His scourging and crucifixion was for us to be healed of our sins!
