Prophecy – God the Son
(NASB) Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”

(NASB) Matthew 1:20-23 “But when he (Joseph) had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 ‘She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’
22 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
23 ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which translated means, ‘God with us.’”

What is mind-boggling?  God foretold the astounding fact of His Son coming down from heaven to be conceived by God the Holy Spirit in the virgin…and His name would be Immanuel!  God Himself with us, that’s you and me when we become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prophecy – God the Son
(NASB) Isaiah 9:6 “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us…”
(NASB) Luke 2:7 “And she (Mary) gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

What else staggers my imagination?
(NASB) John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Consider with me:
God the Father gave His only begotten Son (that’s Jesus) so when you believe in Him, you will not perish, but you are given eternal life.  Eternal life to spend the infinite eternity in the presence of the infinite God!

When you ask Jesus to be your Savior because you believe that He died for you on a cross (taking your sins as if they were His).  Jesus became the perfect sacrifice (He came to save His people from their sins).
Jesus…miraculous Savior ~ born to become the Sacrificial Lamb of God so you can live in the eternal presence of God Himself.

Consider the names of Jesus from the above verses:
Immanuel (God with us)
Child born of a virgin
Child conceived by God the Holy Spirit
Jesus (He will save His people from their sins)
Savior (Sacrificial Lamb of God)
Prince of Peace

One with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit –
          Three Persons, yet One God

This is Jesus…in whose name all followers of Christ pray…praise Him!
