Peter and John were arrested, held overnight, appeared before the Sanhedrin (Jewish Council) and released.  They were warned not to speak in the name of Jesus…and Peter replied they would obey God’s leading and not men’s decrees.
Peter and John then reported to fellow believers what had occurred.  Then they prayed…
Do you do that?  Turning to God in prayer in difficult circumstances?

Peter’s prayer was to the Creator God who prophesied of rulers “gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus”.  (Acts 4:24-27)
Peter acknowledged that God’s predetermined plan had been accomplished through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  (Acts 4:28)

Peter then concluded his prayer with:
(NASB) Acts 4:29-30 “And now, Lord, take note of their threats (Sanhedrin), and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,
30 while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.’”

How are some ways you and I can apply God’s words to our lives as we pray?
* Ask God to notice the threats against His people – the threats are real today!
* Ask God to grant His bond-servants to speak His words with confidence in God!
* Acknowledge that God still brings healing and wholeness to many despite the opposition of man against His people.
* The works of God, the signs and wonders that are still occurring are taking place through the name of God’s holy servant Jesus.

Your confidence and mine must come from God as we tell others of Jesus Christ, God’s Anointed One, Messiah!  He is the holy servant of God.  He is my Savior, is He yours?
He is the living Lord Jesus Christ, resurrected and coming again!  God says so!

(NASB) Revelation 22:17 “The Spirit and the bride (followers of Christ) say, ‘Come.’  And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’  And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.”

The water of life is through your choosing to believe that Jesus is Messiah, the Anointed One of God, Savior and Redeemer.  Are you thirsty?  Come!  Do you want that free gift of the water of life?  Come!

(NASB) Revelation 22:20 “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I (Jesus) am coming quickly.’  Amen.  Come, Lord Jesus.”

Are your prayers in the name of Jesus?
