Peter prayed to the Lord God after his release from prison (he was imprisoned for preaching about the risen Lord Jesus Christ). This prayer began by acknowledging the Creator God who made heaven, the earth and the sea and all that they contain…this God of the Holy Bible is Creator.  (Acts 4:23-24)

  Peter continued this prayer:
(NASB) Acts 4:25-26 “who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said…”

What a legacy of God’s chosen people…the legacy of King David; the lineage of faith in God, in the lineage of Jesus Christ.  All whose faith is in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.  What a lineage we have!

David’s faith was in the living God, he had a “without a doubt” faith in God and His words.  David was a king in Israel and he was a servant of the Creator God.

What did Peter quote that David had prophesied?  Psalm 2:1-2
(NASB) Acts 4:25-26 “…‘WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE,
AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS?
26 ‘THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND,
AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER
AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.’”

That prophesy will be fulfilled at the second coming of Jesus as King.  The following is a paraphrase of Revelation 19:11-16 – from the New American Standard Bible
John (the writer of the book of Revelation) saw heaven opened.  He saw a rider, who is called Faithful and True, on a white horse.  The rider He will judge in righteousness and He will wage war.  He is majestic in appearance, He wears a robe dipped in blood and He is called “The Word of God.”  He will be leading His army from heaven.  His army will be clothed with fine linen and riding white horses.  From His mouth will come a sharp sword to strike down the nations and He will come to rule them.  He will “tread the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.”
His name will be on His robe: “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

God’s word goes on to state:
(NASB) Revelation 19:19 “And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.”

This is the coming time when all nations will be arrayed against Israel and the Lord Jesus, the King of kings; He will come to strike those nations down.

Jesus, He is the ultimate victor over the enemies of God.  Take courage, persecuted followers of Christ, your victorious King is coming!
