Peter was preaching to a crowd and during that sermon he said:
(NASB) Acts 3:17 “And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also.”
Actions of ignorance
Are you acting in ignorance of God’s words today?

(NASB) Acts 3:18 “But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.”
Announced by prophets
When you read the Bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament…how do you read it?  Is it with the idea to gain knowledge?  Good.  Is it with the idea that the living God is talking to you as you read?  Good.  Do you believe what God has had written through men?  Good.

(NASB) Acts 3:19 “Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;”
Accountable to God
There is a definite action you and I must take…repent and return to God…our sins need to be “wiped away”.  Then we will be refreshed in the very presence of the Lord!
What sins do you now need to tell God and ask His forgiveness?  What sins do you now need to let go of and turn to God?  What sins are keeping you from being refreshed in the presence of the Lord?

(NASB) Acts 3:20 “and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you,”
Appointed for you
Can you believe it?  God the Father has sent Jesus, the Messiah appointed for you!  What a God we have!  How can we not respond to such a grand and glorious God?

(NASB) Acts 3:21 “whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.”
Ancient promise of God
God’s promise will be fulfilled.  This promise was from “the most ancient time in the memory of man.”
  (Amplified Bible Acts 3:21)

When anyone repents and returns to God (He wipes away sins).  Then…then there is refreshing in the presence of God.  He is available today!

Repent! Return! Be Refreshed!
