Reason enough to praise God!
My name (and yours), my reputation (and yours) – means nothing! Absolutely nothing!
God’s name, God’s reputation – means everything! Absolutely everything! And that is reason enough to praise Him!
The Lord God uses His children to be a witness to a watching world.
Peter and John had been going to prayer and a beggar asked for alms. Peter didn’t have any money but what he did have, he gave. God had given Peter the Holy Spirit. And Peter gave that lame man healing. That man was pulled to his feet by Peter and immediately began walking, leaping and praising God.
What a witness to those who were watching. Those people had seen the lame beggar carried and set down at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, for years! “Alms, alms for the poor,” was the beggar’s cry.
Those people were filled with wonder and amazement! (Acts 3:9-10)
Peter, John and that healed man had moved on to another area, the “so-called portico of Solomon.” (A covered porch or walk of the temple.) The crowd came together…they couldn’t get over it! This man, healed!
Consider with me The Before picture:
The man had to be carried…since birth.
The man begged for the necessities of life.
The man had no ability to walk.
No mention is made of that man praising God.
Consider with me The After picture:
The man walked, leaped about, praised God!
The man had a changed physical life!
The man had a changed spiritual life…praising God!
The man was a witness to the people who had seen him begging…for years!
The people had seen his healing and transformation.
Can anyone see a change in you from last week, last month, how about last year?
Is your life being radically changed by God, the God of the Bible? It is His power that will transform you.
Your life is a witness to others of your faith in the living God. What do others see?
Transformed lives bear witness to others of God’s power and His presence!
And that is reason enough to praise God!
