Jesus died on the cross by His authority given to Him by His Father.          (John 10:18)

  At the moment Jesus died in the darkness that covered the land (Matthew 27:45), an earthquake occurred.  The Roman soldiers guarding Jesus as He died were terrified.  One of those men exclaimed:
(NIV) Luke 23:47 “…‘Surely this was a righteous man.’”
  That pagan recognized the righteousness of Jesus, the Son of God.  He was there and had experienced all that occurred on that life-changing day…the day Jesus died.
  Are you like that Roman centurion?  Do you recognize the righteousness of Jesus?

  Scripture does not say if that man or any of the other soldiers chose to believe in Jesus.  We just don’t know.

  But you can believe in Jesus.
  You can pray for those who do not believe in Jesus today – to receive Him into their lives.
  When anyone knows Jesus as their Savior – there is deep joy, a profound understanding of God’s presence ~ to experience God’s peace that passes understanding.

  We need not be terrified as the Roman centurions were terrified…we can know Christ as our Savior because we have been given a great salvation through faith in Him.

  How can we respond to such a great salvation?
(NASB) Psalm 100:1-5 “SHOUT JOYFULLY to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
3 Know that the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
5 For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.”
