While Jesus was dying – what was taking place?  

*Darkness enveloped the whole land.
          (NASB) Luke 23:44 “It was now about the sixth hour (12 noon), and darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour (3 pm)”  

*Your iniquity and mine was on Jesus. 
          (NASB) Isaiah 53:6 “…But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all   
To fall on Him.” 

*He became our guilt offering as He bore our iniquities ~ God’s Anointed One, Messiah, God’s Servant, our Savior.
          (NASB) Isaiah 53:10 “But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief;
If He would render Himself as a guilt offering…” 

*He bore the sins of many (that’s us), and interceded for the transgressors (that’s us!).
          (NASB) Isaiah 53:12 “…Yet He Himself bore the sins of many,
And interceded for the transgressors.” 

*Jesus was the Sacrificial Lamb
          (NASB) John 1:29 “…Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” 

*God the Father planned for His only begotten Son to die on a cross ~ this is why you and I must know and place our faith in Jesus ~ Savior, Redeemer, Messiah, Sacrificial Lamb of God.  Jesus died because we needed a Savior from our sins and for our salvation.  Jesus took our sins, our iniquities, as if they were His and paid the ultimate price in our place.
          (NASB) John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Jesus ~ was the Sacrificial Lamb! 

Jesus gave the perfect sacrifice!

Jesus ~ gave Himself for you!
