Jesus and the twelve were reclining at the Passover meal.  After He had washed their feet and as they were eating He said that He had earnestly desired to eat this Passover with them before He suffered.  Then He said:
(NASB) Luke 22:17-20 “And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, ‘Take this and share it among yourselves;
18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.’
19 And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘this is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’
20 And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.”

  Remember — Give Thanks.  Jesus did just that throughout that Passover meal.
  Remember — Give thanks to God for Jesus Christ’s promise of the coming of the kingdom of God.  (Luke 22:18)
  Remember — Give thanks for Jesus’ body broken by scourging and crucifixion for you!
(Luke 22:19)
  Remember — Give thanks for Jesus’ life blood poured out through His death on the cross because it is the new covenant of God and this new covenant is in (and through) the blood of Jesus.
