(NASB) Luke 19:45 “Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling.”

This same incident was described by Matthew and Mark in this way:
(NASB) Matthew 21:12 “And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.”
(NASB) Mark 11:16 “and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple.”

Same scene but with additional information.

Then all three Gospels report what Jesus said:
(NASB) Luke 19:46 “saying to them, ‘It is written, ‘AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a ROBBER’S DEN.”

Jesus quoted from the prophets in the Old Testament:
(NASB) Isaiah 56:7 “…For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”
(NASB) Jeremiah 7:11 “Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your sight?  Behold, I, even I, have seen it,’ declares the LORD.”

What is your church and mine doing – are there tables set up to sell merchandise, even items to worship the Lord?

What are our churches doing to honor and worship the living God?  Is the sanctuary a place for prayer and worship of the God of the Bible?

Where is the focal point of worship in our churches?  Is it focused on the Lord God through the prayers said, the music and the sermons?

What are our churches selling and buying during the times of worship and prayer and praise?

What are our churches doing to place God and His words of truth first on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday?

Are our churches a robber’s hideout?  Robbing God of His rightful sovereignty, holiness, majesty and worship?

Are our churches houses of prayer to our great God seven days a week?
