Jesus continued to teach His disciples and those who listened even as He kept His face toward Jerusalem, even as He kept going ahead ~ He did not turn back.

(NASB) Luke 19:28 “…He was going on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.”
Why is this information important?  Jesus was doing the Father’s will.

(NASB) Mark 10:32-34 “They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful.  And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,
33 saying, ‘Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles.
34 ‘They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.’”

Jesus knew what awaited Him in Jerusalem.
Jesus was determined to go to Jerusalem.
Jesus kept His heart, His eyes, His mind on the ultimate outcome – He would ascend to His Father having had victory over sin, death and Satan – at the cross.

Doing the Father’s will may involve pain, suffering, even death – but Jesus is our example.  We are to keep our hearts, our eyes, our minds, and our focus on Jesus.

(NASB) Hebrews 12:1-3 “THEREFORE, SINCE we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Run with endurance as you are doing the Father’s will.
Fix your eyes on Jesus as you are doing the Father’s will.
Endure!  As you do the Father’s will.
Do not grow weary and lose heart as you are doing the Father’s will.
