Jesus used word pictures to illustrate His truth.  And His truth always pointed to the living God and our need of Him in our lives.

A very rich man had asked Jesus how he could enter the kingdom of God.  And Jesus quoted some of the Ten Commandments, and the man said he had kept them.  Then Jesus pinpointed the one thing this man lacked, “sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”  (Luke 18:22 NASB)
This man went away with sadness for he was extremely wealthy and he would not give up that wealth to follow Jesus.  (Perhaps his riches possessed him.)

Jesus then told the following parable (story) of the impossibility of a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
(NASB) Luke 18:24-25 “And Jesus looked at him and said, ‘How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!
25 ‘For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.’”

The disciples of Jesus were incredulous!  What?!!!
(NASB) Luke 18:26 “They who heard it said, ‘then who can be saved?’”

Is that your reaction also?  To follow Jesus is to put Him first in your life.  To follow Jesus is to submit, to yield to doing things God’s way.   We are not to do and live as those who live without God in their lives.

Then Jesus said a most important truth:
(NASB) Luke 18:27 “But He said, ‘The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.’”

As followers of Christ we are never to leave God out.  For with God, all things, all things are possible.

What is in your life which is like a mountain or a wall?  No way around it, no way through it, no way under it, no way over it.

Remember: Nothing is impossible with God.
