Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem…and as He went He passed between Samaria and Galilee.  (Samaria was not Jewish, Galilee was.)
He entered a village and a group of ten men who had leprosy called out to Him, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”  (NASB  Luke 17:13)

Those ten men stood at a distance…because they had the dreaded disease of leprosy.
And all that Jesus said when He saw them was:
(NASB) Luke 17:14 “Go show yourselves to the priests.”
That was all He said, nothing more.  That was it.

What would you have done if you had been one of those lepers?  Would you have stuttered and stammered…“But, but…”  Would you have gotten angry and demanded that Jesus do something that you could see?

Of those ten men (we are not told if some of them were from Galilee or not) at least one was from Samaria.  How can this be known?  Because later in this true story, we are told that he was a Samaritan (Luke 17:16).

Back to this story…those ten men did not argue, nor bicker with Jesus, but immediately started to go to the priests.
Because of their obedience to Jesus’ words, “And as they were going, they were cleansed.”  (NASB Luke 17:14)

Those ten men needed to be given a clean bill of health by the priests…then they could go home to their families, then they could go shopping and work among the people.  They would not be contagious any longer…nor isolated.

Obedience to the words of God brings healing…He does things in unique and unexpected ways to each one of us.  His ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts higher than our thoughts.  (Isaiah 55:8-9)

As you go through your day…obedience to God and His words of truth (all of His words are true) you too will be healed…in God’s way.

* You too, can call out to Jesus, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on me!’
* You too, can then obey what He says to do…read His words of truth…for they are used by the living God to bring healing…spiritually, emotionally, mentally, socially and even physically…all in God’s good timing.

“And as they went, they were cured and made clean.”  (Amplified Bible Luke 17:14)
