We are faced with temptations every day.  Snares (temptations) entrap us and entice us to sin…temptations are inevitable.  (Luke 17:1
  What we do with temptation is the question.
  Jesus warned His disciples to not be a stumbling block to others…tempting others to turn from God and His ways.

  Jesus did not say that when I tempt another “that’s okay”, or “don’t worry about it”.  Rather He did say:
(NASB) Luke 17:2 “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.”
  Strong words of condemnation.

  Self-evaluation with honesty:
  How can your actions cause others to stumble in your family or where you work or where you worship?
  If you are causing one person to stumble, might you also be a hindrance to others?
  Honesty is called for…honesty with yourself…for God honestly knows your thoughts, motives, words and actions.

  A prayer for you:
(NASB) Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.”

  Then pray:
(NASB) Psalm 19:24 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.”

Stumbling blocks – don’t succumb to that temptation…turn from being a stumbling block to others.  For our God will make a way for you to escape…take His way out!

(NASB) 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”

When facing temptation
THINK: how does it affect my faith, my family, and my future?
