(NASB) Luke 16:18 “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.”

    No one is exempt; no one has an excuse or can give an “out” for adultery.  Jesus was quite plain defining what adultery is.

  If this has happened to you, what can now be done?

  What does God promise in the Old Testament?
(NASB) Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,’
Says the LORD.
‘Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.”

(NASB) Isaiah 55:6-7 “Seek the LORD while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the LORD,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.”

  What does God promise in the New Testament?
(NIV) Romans 10:8-13 “But what does it say?  ‘The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,’ that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  11As the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’  12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile–the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

(NASB) 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

  Do you realize when Christ died on the cross, He took your sins, your very real sins, and made them His own?

  No matter what you have done, you can be saved from paying the penalty of your sin by turning to God.  Read the above Scriptures again.  You will be blessed by turning to the living God and His truth!
