Jesus likened the kingdom of God to a mustard seed…a tiny seed which grows into a large tree, such a large tree that birds nest in its branches…that is like God’s power.
(Luke 13:18-19)

Jesus compared the kingdom of God to yeast mixed into flour…hidden yet working…that is comparable to God’s power.  (Luke 13:20-21)
Before Jesus gave these two parables in the book of Luke, He had freed a woman from the bondage of evil spirits and He had healed her body.  (Luke 13:10-17)

Often we think of the power of Jesus to still a storm of wind and waves by speaking and it was stilled!  (Luke 8:22-25That was God’s power at work!
Jesus freed a woman in bondage for eighteen long years…and then healed her bent body.  That was God’s power at work!

God’s power is evidenced when a tiny seed grows to maturity and can have birds nest in its branches.  Everything that was needed for that tiny seed to grow and mature to become a nesting place – everything that was needed was already in that tiny seed!
Everything that is needed for God’s kingdom is likened to that tiny mustard seed.
God’s power is hidden, yet working; and Jesus compared that hidden work to leaven mixed in flour.

God’s power has God’s authority behind it.

Think about it!  If God’s power, with His authority, can produce a tree from a tiny mustard seed and if God’s power is hidden, yet at work – you can know that God is for you!  If God (who has this kind of power) is for you – who can be against you and ultimately have the final victory?  No one!  It is impossible.  God’s power and His authority – do you know Him in this way?

God’s kingdom is not a wimpy and weak kingdom…rather it is a kingdom of power!
(NASB) Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

If you are a follower of Christ – God is the cause behind the things that have happened to you and are happening to you and will happen to you.  Just think of it…all things God causes to work together for (your) good (our eternal good).  Those “all things” are for those who love God…you have been called according to His purpose for you…whether you or I understand our circumstances or not!

The power of the kingdom of God is in your corner, is on your side and nobody, or nothing can ever take that away from you…if you are a follower of Christ.

The power of the kingdom of God is for you!
