How Say You?
Jesus talked with His disciples in a crowd of thousands. (Luke 12:1)
One of the items He talked about:
(NASB) Luke 12:51“Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather divisions;”
Jesus said “Do you suppose…” suppositions and assumptions are misleading and misdirected – at times intentionally! At other times, unintentionally, but with the same results…not really knowing, understanding or believing truth.
Upon what do you base your belief in Jesus Christ? Is it upon suppositions, assumptions of who you want Him to be? Suppositions and assumptions are misleading, misdirected and therefore, you may miss the Savior altogether.
When you are honest in your assessment of Jesus Christ – what must you be doing? You intentionally, prayerfully and carefully read the life of Christ Himself, don’t you?
The four Gospels reveal who Jesus really is…Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all give various events from what Jesus said and did. (Some of the same material is repeated – but each Gospel has a definite purpose in what is said concerning the Lord Jesus Christ. For example, John approaches the times of Jesus from a different “angle” than the other three Gospels.)
Which Gospel are you going to start reading for yourself? Whichever one you choose, pray to the living God to reveal Who Jesus Christ really is as you honestly seek Him.
How say you? Who do you say Jesus Christ is?
And after reading about His life, come back to that question:
How say you? Who do you say Jesus Christ is?
