(NASB) Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God.”

Jesus was talking to a Pharisee who criticized Him for not ceremonially washing before eating lunch.
Jesus went right to the point when He said:
(NASB) Luke 11:42 “But woe to you Pharisees!  For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.

Why was this so important?
(NASB) Matthew 23:13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.”

Obeying God’s words is of utmost importance…obeying all of God’s words is imperative.  Picking and choosing what to believe and do from the Holy Bible is not an option.
*Jesus didn’t say to neglect tithing…He did say we are to regard justice and the love of God.

The Lord God is unchanging…He is the same God in the Old Testament as He is in the New Testament.  He has not changed.  Jesus came to reveal, to show you and me, God the Father.  (John 14:9-11)

God’s instructions are the same today as they were in the days of Micah…hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.

(Amplified) Micah 6:8 “He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?”

Are you meeting God’s requirements?

To do justlyare you being honorable and fair in your dealings and actions?  Are you consistent with moral right; are you fair and equitable?

To love kindnessare you friendly, generous and hospitable, warmhearted and good?  Are you helpful and do you show sympathy and understanding of others?

To love mercyare you kind and compassionate in treating an offender, an enemy clemency?  Are you forgiving and not carrying a grudge?

To walk humbly with your Godare you living before God with respect for Him, and yielding to His words and ways for you?
