The prayer of the week is based on Psalm 1:1-3

You are the living God Who blesses those who do not walk or are not living by following the advice of the ungodly.  Your blessings are on those who do not stand (passively and submissively) in the paths or ways of sinners.  You continually bless those who do not sit down and rest where scoffers are.
You bless those who delight in Your words!  You bless those who think about (meditate) on Your words in the Old Testament and the New Testament, Your words of truth.  (Open my understanding to Your words for they do not contradict each other…help me to evaluate the books I read and the publishing houses which print the materials I read.)
I want to be like that person who is “like a tree, firmly planted by streams of water.”  What a delightful “picture” that brings to mind.
Lord, I want to be yielding fruit in season, at the very time You desire to give out Your fruit to others.
Please sustain me so I won’t wither and become dry and shriveled up.  I desire to prosper in whatever You call me to do.
Thank You for this word picture of what is pleasing to you.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
