To Whom Are You Listening?
Jesus said to His followers:
(NASB) Luke 10:16 “The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.’”
To whom are you listening?
People who speak the true words of God are reliable – are you listening?
Anyone who listens to the true words of God is listening to Jesus Christ.
Anyone who speaks the truths which Jesus spoke and is rejected; the listener is rejecting the truths of God and rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ.
And the rejection goes even deeper…anyone who rejects the Lord Jesus Christ and His words is rejecting the One who sent Him – who is God the Father.
How serious is it to be rejecting God’s truths?
(NASB) John 12:48-50 “He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.
49 ‘For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.
50 ‘I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”
Rejecting Christ is not receiving His words of truth…and those words Jesus spoke will be the very instrument of judgment.
Are you going to be so judged?
Jesus’ authority comes from God the Father. The Father initiated the words Jesus spoke.
The Father sent Jesus and gave Him the commandment of what to say and what to speak.
What did Jesus know about God the Father’s commandment to Him?
The commandment is eternal life. For this reason, Jesus spoke just what the Father told Him.
To whom are you listening?
To whom are you responding?
To whom are you giving obedience?
Is your answer really God? Being honest is imperative for you.
Consider carefully…are you listening, really listening, to God or are you listening to another source?
That source could be…you!
That source could be…a wrong teaching that sounds good but does not agree with God’s words in the Holy Bible.
To Whom Are You Listening, really listening?
