Think About This:

Christ sees beyond your present circumstances into eternity.

Scripture records a time when a large crowd had gathered with the twelve disciples of Jesus present.  Those who were there saw a father receive his son who had been delivered from the power of an unclean spirit by Jesus.    This crowd was amazed at the greatness of God by the works Jesus was doing.
(Luke 9:37-43a)

Then Jesus said a curious thing:
(NASB) Luke 9:43b “…But while everyone was marveling at all that He was doing, He said to His disciples,
44 ‘Let these words sink into your ears; for the Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.’”

Think About This:
Jesus, the Son of Man Who had (and demonstrated) power to deliver an unclean spirit from a boy would not use His power to extricate Himself from men!

Christ saw beyond the present circumstances into eternity.

Because we have the “rest of the story,” we know that Jesus would indeed be delivered into the hands of men; He would be tried, condemned and sentenced to death by crucifixion.  He would die a most painful, terrible death on a cross…for you!

Christ saw beyond His present circumstances into eternity.

Jesus would not use His power to keep Himself from suffering a pain-filled death ~ because your eternity and mine was at stake!

How can we respond to such a great salvation?
‘Thank You, Lord Jesus!  Thank You!’

Jesus looked at the cross (His death) from the perspective of eternity.

Think About This:
When your circumstances are filled with oppression, obsessive control and overwhelming you…
Where you are focusing is affecting you today.  On what are you trusting, or I should say, on Whom are you trusting?

Christ still sees beyond your present circumstances into eternity.
