(Philippians 2:5-11 paraphrased)

Lord God of the Holy Bible, You say that I am to have the same attitude as Your only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

To think that Jesus, the Eternal God, with the full nature and attributes of God, did not consider His equality with You something to be grasped and hung onto.

My Savior made Himself nothing, when He became a man and took the attitude befitting a servant.

Jesus became a man, was conceived by Your Holy Spirit and was born in a barn.

The Son of God…had that attitude for me!  He yielded Himself to Your plans Father and obediently went to death on a cross outside Jerusalem!

For this reason, You exalted Him and placed Him above every name which can possibly be named.

For this reason every knee will bow in heaven, on earth and under the earth.

For this reason every person will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and it will be for Your glory alone, Lord God Almighty, Father of all who receive Jesus as their Savior.
