Imagine God the Son giving power to twelve men.  Imagine God the Son giving His power to His followers.  Imagine God the Son giving power to you!  He has, if you are a follower of Christ.

  Jesus empowered His twelve chosen disciples by His authority.  By His authority He gave the power over all demons and to heal diseases.

Confidence in Jesus’ power and authority; do you exhibit that in your office, in your job, in your home, in your church?

Consider those twelve men – from various backgrounds: some were fishermen, a tax collector, zealots, learned men and others from other occupations which Scripture does not reveal.

No matter your background, no matter your level of schooling…God sends the followers of Jesus Christ into the world, in which they live, work and play.

 

Ordinary men and women empowered by the living God Who is extraordinary!

 

Jesus gave amazing power and authority to His twelve disciples.  Today He gives His followers the power and authority to do their responsibilities for His glory and purpose.

Those twelve men were sent out empowered by Jesus’ authority:
(NASB) Luke 9:1 “AND HE called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases.”

Those twelve men were sent with a message and to minister:
(NASB) Luke 9:2 “And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.”

Where are you presently employed?  If your position is one that God has given you to minister in His name…then He will empower you with His authority to do what He has called you to do…no matter the attitudes of those around you.

Any ministry where you are empowered by Jesus’ authority – there we (followers of Christ) are to proclaim the kingdom of God by our words and actions as we put into obedient action God’s truth and words.

If you are in the work force – your attitude is to honor God, no matter the attitudes of those with whom you work.  That is your sphere of influence.
If you are a stay-at-home spouse you influence your family.  Your spouse is touching many lives through contacts at work and your children are touching many lives of classmates and teachers!

Your sphere of influence is far reaching…and you have been empowered by the living God and with His authority to be obedient to His words!  You have been empowered by the authority of Jesus to live out God’s message with those which you have contact.
