A Man’s Condition – Changed or Unchanged?

A man had been delivered from his many demons by Jesus.  In this scene the man is sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind.  He was no longer under the power or the brutal oppression of the demons.  This man was not from Israel, he was a Gerasene, a “pagan”, one who was not a Jew and Jesus had delivered him from multiple demons.  (It is important to know that you do not have to start out being in the “right” country, the “right” church, the “right” pew to have Jesus work in your life.)

Jesus…was this man’s Deliverer, his Savior and now his LORD.  The man had become a follower of Christ.

(NASB) Luke 8:38-39 “But the man from whom the demons had gone out was begging Him that he might accompany Him; but He sent him away, saying,
39 ‘Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you.’  So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.”

The followers of Christ are doing that!
1- Desiring to go with Jesus, to be with Him
2- Listening to what Jesus tells them to do
3- Obeying what He says to do by putting His words into action
4- Proclaiming what Jesus has done for them (personal testimony is effective and powerful)

Jesus told this man a hard thing…to stay where he was and be a witness to what God had done in his life.

What great things has the Lord Jesus done for you – today?
What great things of God working in your life are you telling others about – today?

This is what true followers of Christ do!

Right now…write down what the Lord Jesus has done for you this day…

3 –

Now – to whom are you going to proclaim what God has done for you?

This is what true followers of Christ do!
