The Power of Your Reporting
A Man’s Condition – Changed or Unchanged?
The “word of mouth” is a powerful tool to spread news – good, bad or indifferent.
Jesus had delivered a man from Gerasene of many demons and the demons had implored Him to not send them into the abyss (bottomless pit). So, Jesus permitted them to go into a herd of swine (pigs) which promptly ran over a cliff and drowned in the water below.
(Luke 8:26-35)
Those who had seen this surprising event were frightened and alarmed.
(NASB) Luke 8:36 “Those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon-possessed had been made well.”
Today, newspapers and even TV newscasts are becoming unimportant, even obsolete. Cell phones, the internet, texting, twitter and facebook have outpaced the traditional way to report the news.
What do you “forward”, what do you send around the world to be read? Are you sending out “truth”? Are you sure that you are reporting the actual circumstances without slanting the information in favor of how you look at life, politics, etc?
Your words are important, even if they are “texting” messages. Once you hit ‘send’ your words are out there for many to read.
Your words and actions are important and impact others, many others!
What “truth” are you sending out to the world?
The people of the Gerasenes reported how Jesus had power over many demons in one man…do your words reflect what Jesus is doing in you and in your life today?
One man’s condition was changed by Jesus and many were witnesses – to what are you witnessing today? More importantly, what are you reporting today?
