A Man’s Condition – Changed or Unchanged?

One man – possessed by many demons.  (Luke 8:27)
Jesus – was recognized and acknowledged by the demons within the man: “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?  I beg You, do not torment me.”  (Luke 8:28 NASB)

Jesus – had power over the demons who had possessed this man…their power had caused the man to be a social outcast, to live among the tombs, to “be seized many times” by their power and he broke chains, shackles and overcame those guarding him.
Jesus was implored by the demons to not command them to go into the abyss (Luke 8:31).  They asked His permission…only because He was greater.

Do you recognize Jesus as being greater than you are?  Do you recognize and acknowledge that He is the Son of the Most High God?  Demons do.

Jesus had compassion on this man in the country of the Gerasenes.  Jesus will have compassion on you also.

Jesus left Israel to go to this pagan land where unbelief in God was lived out.  Gerasene was across the Sea of Galilee from Galilee.  Jesus is not limited by any boundaries.  He will come to where you are today…to meet your needs where you live.

Jesus powerfully dealt with the demons which possessed this man:
(NASB) Luke 8:32-33 “Now there was a herd of many swine feeding there on the mountain; and the demons implored Him to permit them to enter the swine.  And He gave them permission.
33 And the demons came out of the man and entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.”

Jesus has power to change your life for His glory.
