(NASB) John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.”

Jesus went to the cross for you and me (we are the sheep for which He died).

What could be your response?  Praise and thankfulness could be a part of your prayer to Him.  He became the Sacrificial Lamb on the altar of the cross…for you!  He took your sins on Himself and He took your punishment for your sins.

If anyone believes in Him and what He did on the cross for their sins, they will be saved.  He will become their Good Shepherd.
If anyone rejects or refuses such a great salvation…life in eternity will be without Him and that will truly be hell.

So, what is your response to such a great salvation?  Do you praise Him and adore Him; do you love Him and then tell Him so?

(NASB) John 10:14:15 “I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me”
Are you one of the sheep in Jesus’ flock?  If so, He knows you!  Are you continuing to know Jesus better as you study His word?
Do you love Him more deeply today than you did a year ago, are you growing in your relationship with Him?
He loves you tenderly, are you thankful for His love?

(NASB) John 10:15 “even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.”
When Jesus was nailed to the cross, He was following through with the above statement, for you!

Jesus’ amazing love for you was shown on that cross.
Jesus still laid down His life on that cross knowing what your sins would be!  The death of Christ is acknowledged by Christendom this week.

The trials of Jesus, the scourging, the nails, the hot sun, the agony, and the taunts of the crowd…none of this deterred Jesus from steadfastly staying the course.  It was because of your sins and mine; our need, our very great need of His redemption.

He is the Good Shepherd Who laid down His life that we might live!

Praise Him!
