The Greek word for Lord is “kyrios” which means master

Consider this definition with the following verse which is a quote of Jesus:
(NASB) Luke 6:46 “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

When we think of Jesus, do we think of Him as our Master, the One Who has authority over us?
If so, then His question is reasonable, logical and valid.
How do you answer His question?  “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”
Do we give Him the utmost respect by doing what He says to do?

What are a few of the reasons (from the many possibilities) of why we may say “yes” to Jesus and His words?  And then not put them into practice in our homes, our recreation, our workplaces, our daily lives?

Hypocrisy will have us giving “lip service” to being a Christian.
Arrogance will have us thinking we know better than Jesus and His authority over us.
Disobedience will show we do not trust His words which should direct our lives.
Lying (at least to ourselves) of why we don’t do what Jesus says to do…we may even have a hidden agenda.
Insubordination is considered an act of treason in the military…are we following Jesus as our Commander, if so are we putting His words into action?

How committed are you to Jesus?  Is He really your Master, your Lord?  Or are you only “looking good” as a nominal follower of Christ?  Such as, going to church, reading a devotional…is this the extent of your following Jesus?

Jesus said: “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

Is Jesus Your Lord, Your Master?
