Jesus gave illustrations which help us to “picture” our lives.
(NASB) Luke 6:43-44 “For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.
44 ‘For each tree is known by its own fruit.  For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush.”

What kind of fruit (good or bad) are you exhibiting by your attitudes, actions and words?

Godly fruit is produced by a godly attitude

which is reflected by a godly response.

What kind of fruit do your spouse, co-workers, neighbors and friends experience from your life?

Godly Fruit
Your life will reflect a healthy attitude when you bear godly fruit…OR…your life will reflect a prickly, pessimistic attitude of briars and thorns.

Godly Attitudes
What do your attitudes reflect about you when faced with a difficult situation?  Does your attitude show a healthy, godly response to others OR does it reflect the thorns and briars of defensive prickly pessimism?  Are you quick to be offended?

Godly Responses
How do you become a tree which produces godly fruit, no matter what “comes down” on you?
No matter the fruit others are producing and are negatively throwing at us, our focus is to be on the living God and His word.  (The briars and thorns do hurt us and the one hurling them at us is also hurting.  Hurting people do hurtful things.)

Our attitudes and responses are to bear godly fruit, no matter the briars and thorns of others.  This does require submission to God and His ways and His words.

Do you have a teachable heart attitude before God?

(NASB) Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”

What fruit are you producing?

Godly fruit is produced by a godly attitude

which is reflected by a godly response.
