God’s word states:
“Do not judge”       Luke 6:37
“do not condemn” Luke 6:37
“forgive”                  Luke 6:37

With those three admonitions in mind, God also promises that what you give will be returned to you in “good measure”.
(NASB) Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you.  They will pour into your lap a good measure–pressed down, shaken together, and running over.  For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

Think of this: If you wanted to give someone else a gift of cereal or rice, would you fill a container, then press down the contents so you could add more?  Then in order to add even more you would shake the container so the contents would settled even further down to the bottom?  Then would you fill the container until it overflowed?

What do you need to give others which you want given to you?
Do you judge another? “Do not judge”  Luke 6:37
Do you condemn another? “do not condemn”  Luke 6:37
Do you forgive another? “forgive”  Luke 6:37

What do you want given to you, pressed down, shaken together, overflowing?
Here is a partial list, your list may include different things or additional things:
Love; Forgiveness; Acceptance; Friendship; Joy of being with another; Laughter; Empathy; Kindness; Etc.

What is your standard of measure?

By what standard of measure do you give others your time, your undivided attention, your “self”?

By your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.

‘Remind me Father how I want to be treated by others as I interact with them.
May my standard of measure be pressed down, shaken together and overflowing.
Help me, Lord, to be a true friend to each person with whom I have contact.
In the name of Jesus, my Savior, Amen.’

What is your prayer?
