How did Jesus fulfill His teaching “Pray for those who mistreat you”?  He prayed from the cross of execution for His executioners!
(NASB) Luke 23:34 “…‘Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.’”

Jesus was hanging from a cross because of your sins.
Jesus was hanging from a cross so you can have life by faith in His name.
Jesus was hanging from a cross as the only sacrifice which God would accept…on your behalf.
Jesus was hanging from a cross so you could be healed.

(NASB) 1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”

When you are mistreated because you are a follower of Christ Jesus, do you pray for those who are mistreating you?  Are you praying for those who malign you, shoot at you, who set fire to your house or the church in which you worship the living God?

How often do you pray for believers in other parts of the world who are being ostracized, criticized, forced to leave their family and their homes?

Being a follower of Jesus requires commitment to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, to endure and place our hope in the living God!

“Pray for those who mistreat you.”
