(NASB) Luke 6:21 “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied…”

  Jesus recognized then, and recognizes now, the hunger people have.  He promised that those who hunger now will be satisfied.

For what do you hunger?  In many countries, many people are hungry for food…starving…in need of food to keep alive.

Many more people are hungry…starving…and they do not know it.  They need God…and they do not know it.  Many are seeking to fill themselves with “something” to take care of their starving hunger.  And they will continue to ignore God, despise God, reject God and as a result they will continue to starve.

How hungry are you to know God, as He is, and not as your imagination makes Him?  Who do you believe about their concept of God?  Where do you turn to know God for yourself and not through the eyes of another?  Devotionals, books on spirituality…many are good…do they point you to God Himself?

Hungering for God, the unchanging God of the Bible is to delve into the riches of God’s word.  If you do not have access to a Bible…hang onto those sources which quote God’s word.  Memorize Scripture to which you do have access.  Begin to mine the treasures of God’s words, wisdom and wonders for His precious truths from His words. 

‘O Lord God Almighty, that I would be hungry for You each day.’
