Jesus had power to heal…and the people who came to Him for healing knew that power emanated from Him and they reached out to touch Him.
(NASB) Luke 6:19 “And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all.”

How powerful is your God?  How powerful is the God of the Bible?  Do you think of God as One you can control or coerce?  How big, how powerful, is your God in your thinking?  God’s pure power is beyond my comprehension.  He is greater than the most powerful leader in the world…perhaps you may forget that in light of what is occurring in the world’s countries and economies.

What does God say about the power of His works?  As you read the following Scripture, you are encouraged to think about each phrase, each verse and what it tells you of God:

(NASB) Psalm 111:1 “PRAISE THE LORD!
I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart,
In the company of the upright and in the assembly.”
  When do you praise the LORD?  Is it when you worship?

Psalm 111:2 “Great are the works of the LORD;
They are studied by all who delight in them.”
Are you studying God’s words and finding pleasure in them?

Psalm 111:3 “Splendid and majestic is His work,
And His righteousness endures forever.”
  Splendid and majestic is God’s work…it is not shoddy, half-hearted; it is done with excellence…how does your work glorify God and His splendid and majestic work?

Psalm 111:4 “He has made His wonders to be remembered;
The LORD is gracious and compassionate.”
God’s works were made to be remembered!
  God’s works reveal that He is gracious and compassionate!
  What are you putting into your memory bank about God from His word?

Psalm 111:5 “He has given food to those who fear Him;
He will remember His covenant forever.”
God remembers His promise forever and ever into the future of eternity.
  Are you included in God’s covenant to His people?  It is only through faith in Jesus!

Psalm 111:6 “He has made known to His people the power of His works…”
Jesus demonstrated this power when He healed those who touched Him in that crowd that day in Galilee.

How Powerful is Your God?
