Jesus had been on a mountain, all night, in prayer…and in the morning He called twelve men from a larger group to come to Him.  He called them to come up to Him where He was.  (Luke 6:12)

(NASB) Luke 6:17 “Jesus came down with them…”

Jesus also calls you up to where He is…then He comes down into the everydayness of your life.

Have you responded to His call to climb that mountain from where He is calling you?  When you climb the heights, along a path which leads to Him…He will be there for you to spend time with, in the quiet and the solitude of just the two of you.  A quiet time spent in the word of God and in prayer is just such a place you meet Him.  Then, then, He will go with you down the path you are traveling, into the everydayness of your life.

What can you know, this moment?  Even though your country may be divided because of its present leadership, even though your job is difficult, even though your marriage may be in an upheaval…Christ Jesus is calling you to come up to where He is…up to His level during your quiet time with Him.  Have you “come apart” to be with Jesus OR are you “coming apart at the seams” because your faith is placed somewhere else?

Jesus calls each of His followers to come up to His level…then He goes with you down into the pathways of your life.

Sinful though each of us are, He hears our confession of our sins (what sins do you need to confess?).

He hears, forgives and forgets those confessed sins because of what He has done for you on the cross.  We do need Jesus…every moment…even though life may not be as we would like it.

(NASB) 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Jesus calls us up to Himself…then He comes down with us into the everydayness of our lives.  Immanuel…God is with the followers of Christ…even though we are sinners…He forgives!  He will walk with us this day!  Have you met Him in the solitude and the quiet of His word?
