Jesus taught in parables…and the truths of God were given through these “pictures” in which one has to think and to reason and to understand what those truths are.

(NASB) Luke 5:37-38 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined.
38 ‘But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.”

Why wouldn’t it work for new wine to be put into old wineskins?  Because the new wine is “working”, the old wineskins would not be able to stretch to accommodate the process of fermentation.

How does this parable have meaning for your life and mine?
New wine: God puts His Holy Spirit into our lives
Old wineskins: our mind, emotions and will without Christ
The old nature cannot contain all that the Holy Spirit gives.

When anyone believes and receives Jesus Christ as their Savior…God then gives us a new nature…one in which His life is given, His Holy Spirit.

New Wine…in…New Wineskins

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

God alone can make all things new in my life…therefore I am to sing to the LORD a new song, to sing His praises!  (Isaiah 42:10a)

New Wine…in…New Wineskins!  Have you received His life through belief in Jesus Christ?  If so, are you singing praises to Him?
