New Year’s Eve…time to party!  2012 is about to turn into 2013…at midnight tonight.

  How will you be celebrating?  Will you celebrate with…Party Time?  A night out with friends and even those you don’t know?  Or will it be with no celebration and your usual night?

However you enter into the New Year of 2013, including Jesus Christ in your celebration and prayers would be a blessing for you and pleasing to Him.

Matthew had answered Jesus’ call to “Follow Me”.  And then he showed the changed direction of his life.  He had a sit-down dinner reception for Jesus.  He invited those he knew, tax collectors and other people to his house.  He wanted them to meet Jesus and for Jesus to meet them.  Matthew was a generous man, he had all that food and possibly had to hire help to serve.  He was also probably wealthy, because he had a large enough house to provide a sit-down dinner.  (Luke 5:29)

Because of Matthew’s reception of Jesus into his life, he gave a reception for Jesus so others could meet Him.

Receiving Christ Jesus into your life is to desire for others to know Him also.

Matthew left everything to follow Jesus (Luke 5:28).

But he did not forget those he knew…following Jesus is to become more aware of others real need…to meet Jesus!

To want others to become a follower of Christ as their Savior is not to add numbers to a church membership or “fill the pews”.  It is for others to receive the greatest gift of life, Christ’s life in them and for them.
