(NASB) Luke 5:1-2 “…He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;
2 and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake;
But the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.”

NEED:
The people crowding around Jesus could hear Jesus but what about those on the outer edges of that crowd?

SIMPLE SOLUTION:
Jesus saw the need.
Jesus used what was at hand.

When you have a problem which needs to be solved…do you ask Jesus to give you insight on how to find a solution?  Jesus “sees” the answer to your problem(s) and many times the solution may be simple and near at hand.

(NASB) Luke 5:3 “And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the land.  And He sat down and began teaching the people from the boat.”

Jesus took a difficult situation and simplified it.  He solved the problem and effectively continued to teach those on shore.
He created “space” for Himself and He used the natural characteristics of the water to carry His voice to the outer edges of the crowd.  He was probably more easily seen by all the people.

Do you fret, stew, fume and fuss, and anxiously try to “fix” people, situations, and/or problems?
How many times do you complicate a situation with your many and varied problem-solving techniques?
How many times do you first, FIRST, ask Jesus for the simplest way to solve the problem(s) you are facing?

The next time you are faced with a difficult situation and/or person, consider asking the Lord Jesus to show you what He wants you to do and how to do it.  You may be surprised at what is near at hand and provides a simple solution to a complex problem.

Lord, help me to think outside the box of MY thinking.
