Ascertaining or Assuming God’s Direction
What can be ascertained from Scripture which is not explicitly stated?
Jesus went to a secluded place and then it is stated in Scripture that it was time for Him to go to other cities to preach the Good News.
When Jesus was in that secluded place early in the hours of the day…He found God’s direction, God’s will for Him.
Do you ask the living God of the Bible for His will for you and what you are to do next? Or do you assume you know God’s next step for you to take. It seems sooo logical!
The people of Capernaum thought it was logical for Jesus to stay and minister to them. Yet Jesus said:
(NASB) Luke 4:43 “…I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose.”
When was the last time you went to a place apart from distractions (without your iPhone or iPad)? When did you last ask the Lord God to show you what He wants you to do and where He wants you to go?
Are you in the habit of ascertaining God’s will through the reading of His word?
Or do you assume you know God’s direction for you because it seems sooo logical?
Ascertaining or Assuming God’s Direction
What do you choose to do?
(NASB) Psalm 105: 1-2 “OH GIVE thanks to the LORD, call upon His name,
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders.”
