Where is your place of seclusion from the noises, from the distractions, from the tyranny of the urgent?

(NASB) Luke 4:42a “When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place…”

Whether at the beginning or the close of the day…to sit and let the quiet of the moment penetrate your mind, your emotions, and yes, even your will.

To sit absorbing the sounds around you, whatever those sounds are.  But to recognize, most importantly, that you are in the presence of God.  To consciously come into the presence of the living God of the Holy Bible is to be in a secluded place – just you and God.

To sit and let the “rest” of God seep into those areas where you are frustrated, puzzled or even angered… “O, Lord Jesus, come!”

(Amplified) Luke 4:42a “And when daybreak came, He left [Peter’s house] and went into an isolated [desert] place.”

To know…at this precise moment you are in God’s holy presence!

(NASB) Psalm 105:1 “OH GIVE thanks to the LORD, call upon His name…”
