Red Letter Day

Name/Attribute of God ~ Redeemer

  What did Jesus do to prepare to become the Redeemer, providing eternal redemption for you?

One of the preparations to be Redeemer began in the wilderness after His baptism.  For forty days He fasted from food then was tempted by Satan before He began His ministry.  It was a ministry of redemption.  At the end of His life He was scourged and died on a cross – all of this was the action of redemption.  He became our Redeemer.  Redeemer means: one who buys back.
(NASB) Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us – for it is written, ‘CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE’–”

All who have faith in Jesus…they are redeemed.  They are justified by God’s gift of grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.  The Redeemer brings redemption to those who have faith in Jesus because He is the Redeemer.  (See Romans 4:21-26)

People need the Redeemer, Jesus Christ…because only through faith in Him will God pass over our sins.  There is only one true Redeemer – and Jesus Christ is verified to be that Redeemer.  (See Ephesians 1:7)

The redemption of God is for us to be transferred to the kingdomof God’s beloved Son.  It is through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, that we have redemption, we have the forgiveness of our sins.  (See Colossians 1:13-14)

The followers of Christ can say with Job’s confidence:
(NASB)  Job 19:25-27 “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
26 ‘Even after my skin is destroyed,
Yet from my flesh I shall see God;
27 Whom I myself shall behold,
And whom my eyes will see and not another…”

Do you have this confidence?

If so, have you praised Him in awe?

“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,”
