Looking in the Right Places
The twelve year old Jesus had stayed behind in Jerusalem after the Passover Feast. After searching for three days for Him, His parents found Him in the temple listening and answering questions to the amazement of the teachers of Israel.
Jesus’ answer to Mary’s question, “Son, why have You treated us this way? Behold your father and I have been anxiously looking for You.”
(NASB) Luke 2:49 “And He said to them, ‘Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?’”
What a surprising answer…no excuses, only the facts were given by Jesus. His parents were surprised to find Him at that particular spot. And Jesus? He was surprised that His parents wouldn’t look for Him in the temple first!
Where can you be found when others are looking for you?
Would you be ashamed at being found there or surprised that they hadn’t checked that location out as the first place to look?
Where would you like to be found by others? What do you need to start doing in order to be there?
