Jesus
Jesus means to “save His people from their sins.”  (See Matthew 1:21)

Immanuel
(NASB) Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”
Jesus was also to be called Immanuel, which translates to “God with us”.
(See Matthew 1:23)

What are some other names associated with Jesus?
(NASB) Isaiah 9:6-7 “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.”

Wonderful Counselor – God the Holy Spirit
(NIV) John 14:15-17 “If you love me, you will obey what I command.
16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – 17the Spirit of truth…”

Please note that the Holy Spirit is not an “it”, the Holy Spirit is “He”.  He is a part of the trinity of the living God.  God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Three Persons yet One God.

Mighty God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
There is no greater power than God.

Eternal Father
Jesus said “I and the Father are one.”  (See John 10:30)

Prince of Peace
It is Jesus Who has provided the opportunity for you to have peace with God.

Followers of Christ: you have a choice each day to choose to be in agreement with God or to dig in your heels and go your own way.  Followers of Christ have accepted Jesus as their Savior and we are to receive Him as our Lord (Master).  Yielding to God is to ‘yield to God’.

One day, Jesus Christ will rule as King and will bring peace to the world.
Today, you can have peace with God through Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
