Joseph was faithful to God’s words to him.  He married Mary; he named the baby Jesus just as he had been told to by the angel messenger of God.  (See Matthew 1:18-25)
Jesus means “save His people from their sins”.
This baby lying in a manger was also called Immanuel – “God with us”.

Joseph believed God’s message to him and responded in faithful obedience.

How often do you hear or read God’s words from the Holy Bible and not respond to His message?
Each person is responsible before God and we will be held accountable for how we respond to Him.

Joseph was a godly man – and he was also chosen by the living God to nurture and raise the Son of God.  Mary and Joseph were God’s chosen couple to be involved with His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you a godly man or woman who is responding to God’s message to you?
Does it show in your attitude, your actions, your words and your motives?

Peace within is promised when anyone turns to God and does what He says.
(NASB) Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus says the LORD,
‘Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths,
Where the good way is, and walk in it;
And you will find rest for your souls…”

Doing what God says to do is to obey Him.
Obedience is “dissed” today and inner turmoil is expressed in actions of discord, rebellion and active dislike for anything which touches on yielding to the higher authority of God.

Whose example are you choosing to follow: Godly counsel or the way of those who disregard the living God?
